Engine Blankets designed for reducing vehicle engine noise

Description

A sheet of blocking Lead, sandwiched inside two layers of class “O” fire rated acoustic foam, covered with a high heat resistant Fortaglas fabric.

The lead blocks the engine sound and the foam absorbs the airborne sounds.

The blankets help to suppress the “clatter” from the diesel engine and stop it from entering the cab area. Waterproof, Fireproof, Oil and Grease resistant, Bound and sealed edges, Brass eyelets for easy fixing.

We stock three standard sizes that generally cover all engines as engines greatly differ in size. (Small 500x500mm, Medium 750×500 and Large 925×500). However we can manufacture any custom designed engine blanket if you prefer, which can also include cut outs, slots etc

Small Blankets are normally for Motorhome Engines and Transverse Car Engines

Medium Blankets are normally for In-Line Car Engines (plus VW T5 and VW T6 and all Mercedes Vans)

Large Blankets are normally for all Land Rover Engines 200 TDI/300 TDI/TD5/TD4 (Puma/TD4 type blankets  include an essential cut out at the back)

We also manufacture a special engine blanket for a Vauxhall Astra and many more.

    Hi Steve.

    Just to let you know that the medium size engine blanket I have fitted to my 2004 Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 diesel has made a big difference to cabin noise, especially at cruising speeds. The blanket feels a well made quality item, and it took less than 10 minutes to fit.

    As mentioned in your instructions I have pushed as much of the blanket as possible between the engine and bulk head, being careful to avoid turbo/ exhaust components, and this has helped to reduce to injector clatter considerably.

    I have no problem in recommending this product for anyone with a rather vocal diesel engined vehicle!

    Hello Steve. You may remember me and my van: around 8 years ago, you came over to Saltaire in Yorkshire to fit noise reducing covers to the engine cover in my Merc 709D cab.

    These, and the other stuff you fitted, made a noticeable difference to the noise in the cab when we travelled the length and breadth of S, Central and N America.

    Received the engine blanked for my Focus, I’m very impressed, the noise of the engine has dropped by about 30%. I’ve followed your guidance by recommending you place as much of the blanket at the back of the engine as possible without restricting the engine ancillaries. It seems to work. Can you place two blankets on top of an engine to reduce the engine noise even more? There seems to be enough space under the bonnet.

    A little sceptical at first but I took the plunge and ordered the small engine blanket for my Diesel Honda Civic. Easy to fit, it has made a surprising difference to the engine noise level, muting the clattery sound and the drone of the engine at idle and under load and cruise. Highly recommended if like many people you are forced into a noisy diesel 4 cylinder car, and have no choice but to run it due to costs. Not just for land rovers!

    My Kia Sorento 2016 diesel is already quite quiet compare to many others but I just removed the engine top cover and put your acoustic blanket on top of engine head and yet feel about 30% inside cabin noise decrease. Thanks for inventing good product. Cheers.

    Received engine blanket and must admit was sceptical.

    Fitted it to my TD5 Soft top Defender, and was amazed at the difference.

    I already had 10mm of sound absorbing foam under bonnet plus lots of sound absorbing foam etc. inside.

    Its never going to be quiet but very pleased.

    I was in the area a few years back and picked up my front cab area and under bonnet Noisekiller sound proofing kit which made a huge improvement, but didn’t have the cash for a blanket at the time. I have finally got around to getting one of your large blankets and fitted it this weekend, and even more improvement in the sound deadening, I can even hear the cab fan on it’s lowest setting while idling along a back lane… more noise seems to be coming through my open window!

    Having fitted each separately I can truly appreciate the benefits each has to offer, and can certainly recommend and justify anyone considering a full Noisekiller set of sound proofing.
